Z'EV live @ Xm24 (Bologna)

Spettro Recordings opens on 13 may, 2010, presenting at XM24 a unique live collaboration between Z'EV and Stefano Pilia, followed by Salomé Lego Playset.

Z'EV
Conceptual artist, poet and sound sculptor. After studying at CalArts with Concrete poet Emmett Williams he produced visual and sound poetries, and was included in the “Second Generation” show at the Museum of Conceptual Art in San Francisco in 1975.
While but one of the progenitors of the ‘industrial movement’ in the mid-70’s, he, along with Neil Megson, was primarily responsible for delivering the ‘tribal’ impulse and esthetic into the Western cultural milieu between the years 1978-1984.
While generally most known as a solo performer, since 2003 he has been concentrating on cooperative and collaborative composition and performance. Recording/performing with:
Oren Ambarchi, Konrad Becker [as PSYOPS SOUND SYSTEM], Hans Joachim Irmler [as FAUZ’t], David Jackman/Organum, Jason Kahn, Kknull, Larsen, Franciso Lopez, Merzbow, Bj Nilsen, Stephen O’malley, Osso Exotico, Pita, Boyd Rice, the.bänd, Kasper T.Toeplitz, Luc Van Acker, Nico Vascellari [as Pslayer], Chris Watson, and John Zorn.

Stefano Pilia
Stefano Pilia was born in Genoa in 1978. He lives and works in Bologna. An electro-acoustic composer and multi-instrumentalist who has realeased various recordings with both Italian and foreign labels , has toured Europe and the USA, collaborating with artists as well as musicians. His work has become progressevly concerned with the research of the sculputural dimensions of sound and it's relations with space both through instrumental executional practices and investigations into the recording and production process. He is one of the founder members of 3/4HadBeenEliminated, a synthethis between improvisation, electro-acoustic composition and avant-rock sensibilties. He generally plays live as solo and with 3/4HadBeenEliminated and Massimo Volume, and frequently collaborates on the sound-tracking (both live and on CD/video) for the productions of Zimmerfrei, Cosmesi, Homemovies and Wuming2.
